Will there be a “Rescue 3”? What do we know about the possible sequel?

On June 16, 2023, Netflix released ‘Rescue 2’, a continuation of the first feature film which became successful on the streaming service, becoming the most watched movie on the platform. And there are already people who are eager to know if ‘Rescue 3’ will come.

The first film in the series received a lot of praise for its amazing action scenes and this made the second film even more dynamic.

In “Extraction 2,” actor Chris Hemsworth, who plays the lead role of a mercenary named Tyler Rake, is hired on a new risky mission to save the family of a ruthless criminal. He faces many obstacles to succeed in the task.

The two-hour film was rated highly by critics, with many complimenting the very well-crafted action scenes.

Here comes Rescue 3

With the praise received in the first film and the eminent success of the second feature film, there is already great anticipation for the development of ‘Rescue 3’. One of the signs is that ‘Rescue 2’ leaves a clear hook at the end so that a continuation is given and the trilogy is accomplished. We don’t say what the hook is for not giving spoilers here.

And one day after the release of the second film, star Chris Hemsworth, along with director Sam Hargrave, broke the news beyond encouragement to all fans. At Tudum 2023, an event promoted by Netflix in Ibirapuera Park, he declared that there will be ‘Rescue 3’.

Chris Hemsworth confessed he was even more excited to continue the film after being warmly welcomed at the event. Despite the announcement, no further details about ‘Rescue 3’, including the release date, have yet to be revealed.

However, the director said that the third feature has a lot of room to explore with even more incredible action scenes. We await the details of the story, the names of the cast and the release date or window.
