Director Dan Trachtenberg, known for ‘The Predator: The Hunt’ and ’10 Cloverfield Lane’, has been announced by Netflix as one of the directors for the fifth and final season of ‘Stranger Things’. The news was revealed by the streaming platform this Wednesday (28/6).
Trachtenberg has an impressive resume directing series, including the pilot of ‘The Boys’ for Amazon and ‘Black Mirror: Playtest’ for Netflix.
Cast and production news
Trachtenberg’s signing comes shortly after the announcement of the participation of Linda Hamilton, interpreter of the iconic Sarah Connors in “The Terminator”. She joins a cast full of 80s icons led by Winona Ryder, plus Matthew Modine, Sean Astin, Paul Reiser, Cary Elwes and Robert Englund, who have all come through on the series. Details about Hamilton’s role have yet to be released.
The renewal for the fifth and final season of ‘Stranger Things’ was confirmed in February 2022. However, the production was recently suspended due to the ongoing writers’ strike in the United States. In May, the Duffer brothers, creators of the series, announced that, although they had already written part of the fifth season, they would support the strike. With that, the new episodes still don’t have a date to begin their tapings or premiere predictions.
