More than a year later, the platform confirmed this Thursday (29) that the work will be a film and that Leslye Headland will be the director. The director has worked on other streaming productions and will join Reid as an executive producer.

The announcement that Netflix would own the adaptation of The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo arrived in March of last year. With author Taylor Jenkins Reid having been a fever among young people — including going viral on TikTok — fans were soon pressing the stream to reveal who the actors and actresses would be.

However, a year later, Leslye Headland and Reid are just the first names confirmed in the film.
