What are the prospects for Johnny Depp after Amber Heard’s libel suit? The actor is planning a new project

Wednesday, June 1, Depp v. understood. After nearly two full months of depositions and testimony, Amber Heard was found guilty of three counts of defamation by Johnny Depp in three cases, while Depp was found guilty via Heard’s counterclaim for defaming his ex-wife in a ‘accusation. Although Heard and her legal team intend to appeal the decision, this legal saga is over for now. What are the prospects for Depp? It turns out that you already have a unique project in mind.

Johnny Depp was last seen on the big screen Minamata, the drama that premiered in the US in February and played the actor / producer in the critically acclaimed role of American photographer W. Eugene Smith. While it was announced in January that Depp had been cast for the role of King Louis XV in the costume film Jeanne Dubarry (with director Maïwenn playing the title character), it was revealed that the Pirates of the Caribbean Star is also teaming up with guitarist Jeff Beck on an album due out in July.

This won’t be the first time Johnny Depp has teamed up with Jeff Beck, who has played in bands like Yardbirds, The Jeff Beck Group and Beck, Bogert & Appice. The pair had previously recorded a cover of John Lennon’s song “Isolation” and were also spotted performing alongside musician Sam Fender in a Newcastle pub on Thursday night after Depp v. Heard will end up in Fairfax, Virginia. Although Depp made no reference to the verdict when he joined Beck and Fender on eight songs, Beck was heard exclaiming “What a turnout”. Here’s what the guitarist told the crowd about his next album with Depp (via Term):

I met this guy five years ago and we haven’t stopped laughing ever since. In fact, we made an album. I don’t know how it happened. It will be released in July.

Following the unanimous jury verdict, Johnny Depp received $ 10 million in compensatory damages and $ 2 million in punitive damages (which Virginia state law reduced to $ 350,000), while Heard received $ 2 million in compensatory damages. Depp said in his subsequent statement that he was “truly honored” that the jury brought him back to life, concluding, “The best is yet to come and a new chapter has finally begun.” This album will obviously be part of this new chapter. Meanwhile, Heard said in her statement that she was “heartbroken” by the final decision and “even more disappointed with what this verdict means to other women.” Heard’s attorney Elaine Bredehoft also said she believed her client had been “demonized” in court and online.

Johnny Depp fans just have to wait until next month before his album with Jeff Beck is released. As for his film work, it will probably take some time before Jeanne Dubarry is coming out, but once the release date is announced, we will broadcast it. Until then, our 2022 movie release guide lets you see what cinematic entertainment awaits you in the near future.
