Botafogo maintained the leadership of the Brazilian championship. The alvinegros won the classic against Vasco this Sunday, at the Estádio Nilton Santos, by 2-0.
Forward Tiquinho Soares praised the good performance and the three points.
“This victory demonstrates a lot of what our team is all about. We played a great game today. We still have a lot to conquer. It’s up to us to continue at this pace,” the striker said at the Before.
Tiquinho took the opportunity to dedicate the result to right-back Rafael, who was replaced after a knee injury in the first half.
“The victory goes to Rafael, who came out with a problem. He will overcome it. He’s been through it before,” he said.
Botafogo begins to focus on the South American. The alvinegros start the knockout match against Patronato this Wednesday, in Argentina.
