Known as one of the greatest Brazilian singers of all time, the eternal Elis Regina continues to thrill audiences more than 40 years after her death. She the artist was born in Porto Alegre (RS) in 1945, but she consolidated her career between Rio de Janeiro (RJ) and São Paulo (SP), where she lived until the end of her life.
Elis left early, but left a legacy full of everlasting works with her unmistakable voice. Her trajectory was marked by important political and personal affronts, ranging from the dictatorial persecution of the time against the artistic class to her relationships with Ronaldo Bôscoli and César Camargo Mariano.
A feature film about the artist’s personal life and career was released in 2016, and a few years later won an extended release in the format of a mini-series from Globo.
In 2019, the cast produced an extended version of the material, which included several other scenes that were left out of the film and resulted in the mini-series “Elis: Viver é Melhor que Sonhar”. Available in four chapters, the production can be watched on Globoplay.

Volkswagen’s new campaign used AI technology to recreate the artist as a tribute alongside his daughter, Maria Rita.
To the sound of Como Nosso Pais — set to music by Belchior and immortalized in the voice of Elis —, the campaign brings images of the two artists at the helm of Kombi from their respective eras, with images that represent the road of life and with some elements that also refer to the late composer.
