Years in the making, Passion of the Christ 2 finally seems to be materializing. Mel Gibson actually said it on the show Outstanding scenariosthat The Passion of the Christ: Resurrection will soon go into production.
He explains: “We will start production as soon as possible. Because this is such a big undertaking that it cannot be done lightly, it cannot be done quickly.
You really have to think about what you have to show to make it hurt. It cannot be linear. You need to be able to put many elements together, even from different eras, to more fully represent the meaning of something. I think it will be a real puzzle.”
Released in 2004, The Passion of the Christ focused on the last twelve hours of the life of Jesus Christ, played by Jim Caviezel. Betrayed by Judas, Jesus is arrested and taken to Jerusalem, where the leaders of the Pharisees accuse him of blasphemy and put him on trial, resulting in the death penalty.
With a budget of $30 million, the film grossed $612 million worldwide and attracted more than 1.7 million viewers in France. But the passion of Christ divided many mainly because of the excess of torture scenes. The feature film, which is censored in several countries, has also been accused of anti-Semitism.

One of the scenarios is “Acid Trip”
And if Mel Gibson is to be believed, the sequel could surprise the public depending on the script chosen. The director says he and Randall Wallace wrote two versions of the script: one structured and one that reads like an “acid trip.”
“I have two scenarios, one is very structured and very solid, closer to what you would expect. The other is like an acid trip because you go into other realms. I want to tell you that you are in hell. It’s like watching angels fall. . . It’s crazy. .”
Mel Gibson then explains Jim Caviezel“The Passion of the Christ” was canceled on the last day of filming, reprising the role of Jesus Christ in this sequel, which will be released more than 20 years after the first opus.
