It is the only French series to gain ratings in recent years. In 2021, when HPI lands on TF1, it will feel like we are in front of aliens. Audrey Fleuro – a previously established actress who favored auteur work with Engrenages and A French Village – was drawn and dressed in expensive clothes… this portrayed the traditional detective from TF1.
Both traditional in its format – the case of the week – and with an unconventional heroine who in no way conforms to the stereotypes of French detective fiction, HPI gave a new color to French fiction. Evidence of its stratospheric audience: 8.38 million fans were there before their post on Thursday, May 11 to kick off season three!
According to our colleagues PureMediaSeason 3’s eight episodes averaged 7.44 million viewers, or 37.3% of the audience and 48.5% of the FRDA-50. That’s without taking into account the two million viewers that will be added after reruns on MyTF1. No other French series shows such scores and cannot compete with HPI. Not even an American series anywhere else.
If you’re one of those who missed that tidal wave, HPI Season 3 is available in its entirety this Thursday on Disney+. It’s an opportunity to see how the relationship between Morgane (Audrey Fleurot) and Karadek (Mehdi Nebibu) developed and be left speechless by the surprise ending. And here you’ll find enough to develop theories about this finale in anticipation of Season 4! You need a little patience…
