Adrian Lin: I have always been more attracted to intimate than grand epics. I can enjoy a movie like this Duna Where Matrix, But that’s not what I want to do. I prefer stories where the viewer can slip under the skin of the actors to live in them vicariously.
You will be back after a long absence Deep waters. What motivated your desire to bring this story to the screen?
I liked the novel, even if it was a little different. This is a story about a man who is no longer sexually attracted to his wife and can not stand her going elsewhere. He destroys his loved ones and finally kills him. So I changed this third act slightly so that there was a kind of complicity between them.
For example, at the beginning of the movie, when they are at a party, the husband goes to the window and sees his wife in the arms of another man. Kiss her, look at her and know that her companion is watching her. Instead of being worried, he goes on. It seemed interesting to me. This sequence reflects the uncertainty of their relationship.
