Bad news for Netflix subscribers: there will be no sequels to these 3 series

These three series were hits on Netflix when they came out, climbing to the top of the platform’s views, and yet the streaming service simply and simply canceled them. Three Spanish fictions that have found their audience and awakened the expectations of new seasons, thus their fate is sealed forever.

It’s hardly surprising when Netflix announces the cancellation of a series – when the American giant tries to announce it – but several cancellations in a row still have the effect of a bombshell for subscribers.

Spanish content is coming to Netflix

Nevertheless, the ax fell on three Spanish series. And those fictions affected by the summer cancellation are Bienvenidos à Edén, Hasta el cielo: the series and Every Time We Loved Each Other.

Created by Joaquin Goriz and Guillermo López Sánchez, Bienvenidos à Edén is a thriller about the survival of five young people stranded on an island called “Eden” after a mysterious party. The gang discovers that the expected paradise is actually a secret hell, held by a small sect-like group. This series was “lucky” for 2 seasons, and the last episodes were released on April 21.

Sequel to the hit Netflix movie of the same name, Hasta el cielo: the series, still written by Jorge Gerikachevarria, tells the story of how the wife of a dead criminal decides to join a gang to provide for her son’s needs. , towards and against everything, especially towards his own father.

Finally, Every Time We Loved Each Other was Carlos Montero’s latest series, co-creator of Elite. This romantic fiction follows the tumultuous relationship between Irene (Georgina Amorosi) and Giulio (Franco Masini) over twenty years of romance in 8 episodes.

It’s surprising that Spanish content has met this fate for Netflix, given that Spain is one of the most prolific and profitable countries for the platform. The American giant seems to be reviewing its content creation and distribution strategy for the end of the year and next year.

For now, these three series are still available on Netflix and haven’t disappeared from the catalog if you want to catch up with them.
