France 2 is launching this Wednesday evening Les Survivors de L’Arianna, its new mini-series in an international co-production born out of an alliance between France Télévisions, Rai (Italy) and ZDF (Germany).
This 12-episode fiction, hosted by Steffi Selma, most notably seen in Dix pour Cent, was directed by Carmine Elia (La Porta Rossa) and written by Viola Rispoli, of the medical series Doc.
A year after her mysterious disappearance, the sailing ship Arianna suddenly reappears at sea with only seven of its twelve passengers on board. But what happened to them on the boat? Each survivor is interviewed by the police to find out what happened at sea during the current year.
Faced with their evasive or overly precise explanations, the mother of one of the missing begins to doubt the version being reported. He then begins an investigation to find out the truth. Because the seven survivors seem to share a terrible secret…
How were the scenes on the sailboat filmed?
In the second episode of Survivors of the Ariana, the crew members have to deal with a terrible storm that destroys part of the ship. An impressive scene that was clearly not shot at sea.
In Interview Lino Guanciale, who played the role of Luca Giuliani in the mini-series, which was credited to the Italian TV magazine, returned to the filming of this scene. And it was in the film studio in Rome that the boat was restored.
“It was placed on a platform that allowed it to replicate the heaving and rolling of the sea“, he explained, before adding:Panels were installed around it to allow for digital effects. It was a huge job.” the large-scale construction, which he showed behind the scenes in a video shared on his Instagram account.
