Mission Impossible 8: When is Tom Cruise’s sequel coming out?

The fans’ patience has finally been rewarded. After several years of waiting, Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning is in our cinemas. Filmed in Italy as Covid gripped the world and brought Hollywood to a standstill, the new installment in the action and espionage saga was one of the most impactful and delayed projects.

But Tom Cruise is back in French cinemas this Wednesday, July 12, as Ethan Hunt and in front of Christopher McQuarrie’s camera, to whom we now owe three films in the franchise. And soon four. Because, as its full title suggests, Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part 1 is only the first half of this new adventure.

So far, the second one has a release date: June 26, 2024 in France. But a new uncertainty hangs over the feature film. At the world premiere of Dead Reckoning, Tom Cruise claimed that only 40% of the film was in the box before a writers’ strike forced the team to stop.

When you realize that ‘Mission: Impossible 8’ might be coming out later than expected…

The situation has not been resolved since then. And actors and actresses are threatening to go on strike unless an agreement is reached with their union (Screen Actors Guild-American Federation of Television and Radio Artists) in the United States by July 12. At this time, Ethan Hunt’s interpreter is not talking about delaying the exit. But the question must arise quickly.

Viewers who have been able to patiently endure their troubles are obviously gone in a few weeks and months, especially if their wait is rewarded when they arrive. Even if at this point we know absolutely nothing about this Dead Reckoning part 2, except that the cast will generally be the same. And that Tom Cruise has some crazy new tricks for us. Especially on a plane.

For the rest, we can expect to learn more about the past of Ethan Hunt and the villainous Gabriel (Esay Morales) in an opus whose plot may be tighter. Because the heroes and their enemies now know which direction to go, which can limit travel to the four corners of the world.

At the moment, the locations where Mission: Impossible 8 will take place have not even been revealed. But Christopher McQuarrie may have taken to Instagram to announce the return of Rolf Saxon’s William Donloe.

Because Ethan Hunt and Krieger (Jean Reno) were able to go about their business in peace, thanks to Claire Phelps’ (Emanuelle Beart) untimely vomiting caused by a product in her coffee.

A scene in the anthology at the end of which Eugene Kittridge (reviewed in Dead Reckoning, still in his Henry Cherny guise) asks William Donloe to take him to Alaska in the next few hours. Will we find it there in June 2024 or later? This is far from impossible.

Especially when you remember that the opening of the seventh opus takes place under a stream of ice, while Other photos posted by the writer and directorDuring the same period of Rolf Saxon, the snowy shooting was shown. Which would be news for Saga.

What is the meaning of the word?

But that’s not the biggest mystery surrounding the movie. The big question everyone is asking: will this be the end of the Tom Cruise saga? After announcing or hinting at this, Christopher McQuarrie recently revealed that he had more ideas. And the star says he wants to continue until he’s 80.
