With some departures confirmed in the transfer window, another player who will be out of Ponte Preta’s plans is midfielder Matheus Jesus. The athlete, on loan from Corinthians until December 2023, received a proposal from Nassaji Mazandaran from Iran.
Despite only needing to perform in January, the player applied for the release in this window. According to ge’s information, the Campinas-based club was not officially notified and had the player, who played 13 matches in Série B. Furthermore, the midfielder denied having signed a pre-contract.
In 2022, Matheus Jesus was caught in an anti-doping test with substances derived from stanozolol, an anabolic steroid. At the time, the team was playing in the Championship Paulista and, after being judged, the player was sidelined for 10 months, ending his punishment on 4 December 2022.
After being suspended to return to play, the defensive midfielder had a great time with the team in the A2 Paulista dispute, where he proved to be decisive and won the confidence of the coaching staff. Playing in Serie B, in all, he played 23 games in the year and scored six goals.
On the field, Ponte Preta will play again against Tombense, next Saturday (15), at 17 (Brasilia time), at the Moisés Lucarelli Stadium.
