Real Madrid has already started its pre-season period and coach Carlo Ancelotti spoke to the press this Thursday (20). As well as talking about all the expectations for another season in charge of the Meringue club, Ancelotti was also asked about his future in the Brazilian national team. The Italian made sure to close any kind of question on the subject.
“This business is closed from day one. I will never speak of Brazil again. I absolutely do not want to talk about this matter. I have a lot of respect for Real Madrid and I keep my contract until June 30, 2024 – the coach just said.
More questions have been raised about Ancelotti’s future, especially in terms of seeking a contract renewal with Real Madrid. Although the parties have not yet advanced a sort of agreement, Ancelotti has assured that he is in no hurry and furthermore has not ruled out a stay beyond the current contract.
— I’m in no hurry to renew, because I have a contract. Trust in the club is total. Let’s see what happens this season. I think the season will go well, we are very confident because the squad has improved, despite the loss of a fundamental player like Karim [Benzema], a legend of the club. We have a very young group and we are convinced that it will give us many joys – said Ancelotti -.
The Italian coach is named favorite of the Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF) to take charge of the Brazilian national team. Since Tite’s departure, at the end of the World Cup in Qatar, the CBF has been looking for a name on the market and has also had Ramon Menezes ad interim. In early July Fernando Diniz, who coaches Fluminense, was announced as the professional who will carry out the transition work for the arrival of a new manager.
The CBF has already given indications that it will wait until the end of the current European season to reach an agreement with Carlo Ancelotti, although the departure of the Real Madrid manager after the term is not certain.
