Ferrieri Caputi will lead the duel between Japan and Costa Rica
The Italian referee Maria Sole Ferrieri Caputi has been appointed to referee the match between Japan and Costa Rica, valid for the second round of group C of the women’s World Cup.
The duel will be played next Wednesday (26th) at the Forsyth Barr stadium in Dunedin.
One of Ferrieri Caputi’s assistants will be the Italian Francesca Di Monte.
Before the Tuscan judge, the last Italian to have officiated a match in the Women’s World Cup was Carina Vitulano, in the 2015 edition of the competition.
Ferrieri Caputi is known in Italy for being the first woman to referee a Serie A match.
