Jamie Lee Curtis Reveals Reason for Accepting Role in New Disney Movie

After winning the oscar Best Supporting Actress for her role in Everything, Everywhere, At The Same Timethe senior Jamie Lee Curtis can be seen again in theaters on Haunted Mansionnew feature film by disney which premieres this Thursday, the 27th. A fan of the studio, she revealed how the decision to join the cast of the film came about.

In an exclusive interview with CARAS Brazil, Jamie Lee Curtis celebrated the role of Madame Leota, the iconic character of the Disney theme park attraction, which served as the inspiration for the film. Throughout the plot, her character is freed from the crystal ball that spent years trapped by Harriet (Tiffany Haddish).

“Madame Leota was trapped in a crystal ball for a long time and was released by Harriet, a young psychic who I would refer to as a young Padawan, citing Star Wars — as Disney has now bought the franchise. The two bond in a beautiful sisterhood,” she explains.

The artist also reveals that she is a fan of the attraction that inspired the film, revealing that she must have visited the park more than 40 times. “There’s something magical about Disney, the attractions and the crew members. The world outside of Disneyland is a tough one, with hard lives for most people,” adds Jamie Lee Curtis.

Finally, she still says she was excited about the plot, having chosen to be part of the cast without thinking twice.

“I was excited to play this iconic role that has been a part of Disney since 1969. I remember being a kid and seeing Madame Leota on the attraction. [decidir participar da produção].”
