‘Pubertat’, the new series that Leticia Dolera prepares after ‘Perfect life’

The project, co-written with Almudena Monzú, focuses on a sexual assault between teenagers.

In 2019 we met ‘Perfect life’, the series created by Leticia Dolera which was followed last year by its end with the second season.

Now Dolera has a new project that has been released by Variety, which will be called ‘Pubertat’. The series is being carried out at Conecta Fiction & Entertainment and will be presented in the High-End Series section of Conecta Fiction.

Written by Dolera herself and the screenwriter and producer Almudena Monzu (‘Picadero’, ‘Pasión’), the story of ‘Pubertad’ revolves around an alleged sexual assault between teenagers, which sheds light on the sexual taboos of the adults in their care. Thus, the story aims to delve into questions about responsibility for this type of crime, as the synopsis dictates.

“Can a 13-year-old boy be a sexual aggressor? And who is responsible? The minor, his family or society? Surely all of them”

In Dolera’s own words, “‘Pubertat’ talks about the weight of taboo and how it is transmitted from generation to generation, at a cultural, emotional and psychological level. One of the great taboos that the series talks about is sex: what place does it occupy in our lives and how does this affect our way of seeing the world and relating to other people“, he declared.

According to Variety, the series will have six one-hour episodes and will be produced by Distinto Films and Corte y Confeccion de Movies, Dolera’s own label that also produced his previous series.

‘Perfect life’ was a complete success even before its premiere on Movistar+. The series reviewed the life of María (Dolera), Esther (Aixa Villagran) and Christina (Celia Freijeiro) and how they coped with day-to-day issues such as motherhood, friendships, sex, love, and everything that appears to them in that life that is theirs and they had not planned.

The project was a winner at Canneseries, where it took the award for Best Series, Best Performance for the three actresses. He received the Feroz for Best Comedy Series, as well as the Fotogramas de Plata for Best Television Series, among many other awards.

As the producers of Distinto Films say, “‘Pubertat’ is a high-level series, a clear example of how to address a universal theme through local sensitivity and iconography.”

The production company has carried out various productions, such as ‘The Wild Children’, winner of Best Film in Malaga in 2012, television projects such as ‘Clara Campoamor. The forgotten woman’ or ‘Concepción Arenal, the prison visitor’, or more currently the short ‘Suc de Síndria’, by Irene Morayor the film ‘Six ordinary days’, by Neus Ballus.
