Between the March program, CANAL + is broadcasting tonight Nomadic country – Oscar 2021 for Best Picture. After living on Native American reservations (songs taught to me by my brothers) and following a painful portrait of the former Rodeo fame (The Rider), director Chloe Zhao continues to sink realistically into a marginalized population with this third feature film.
Directed by Frances McDormand – her third Oscar for Best Actress (after awarding Fargo and 3 Billboards) – this intimate and humanistic story takes viewers to rural America and its wild landscapes magnified by Joshua James photographer Richard. Thus, Chloe Zhao becomes the second woman, after Catherine Bigelow, in 2010 for the Minesweepers to receive an Oscar for Best Director.
