This year, DC has confirmed production on several animated feature films, including a new adaptation of a comic book classic.
While attention is currently focused on the James Gunn-orchestrated reboot of the franchise, DC Comics Studios reminds us that it’s also known for adapting its most popular superhero adventures into animation. Over the years, famous comics such as Batman: The Dark Knight and Superman Red Son have been adapted into animated feature films, often with full respect for the original work.
And DC won’t abandon that tradition, despite James Gunn’s plans to give the franchise a whole new start! In a panel at San Diego Comic-Con, the studio confirmed that two new animated features are coming soon, including an adaptation of the cult comic.
