Look at all that has changed in the Fiat Strada, which receives the T200 engine, gains an unprecedented version with an urban proposal and launches a special series
The best-selling car in Brazil has major changes and is now turbocharged! The Fiat Strada maintains the tradition and once again anticipates the competition. For the first time, a B-segment pickup (small pickups) has a turbocharged engine. The Nuova Strada 2024 is equipped with the 1.0 T200 Flex engine in the top-of-the-range versions: Ultra and Ranch.

With the novelty, the Fiat Strada becomes more powerful and without ceasing to be economical at the top of the range. Power increases from 107 HP to 130 HP with ethanol (125 HP with petrol) and torque increases from 134 Nm to 200 Nm (in both fuel systems). The gearbox is a 7-speed CVT automatic with sequential manual gearboxes via throttle on the steering wheel and lever.
The novelty equips both the Ranch version and the new Ultra version. The two top-of-the-range pickups have the same price (R$132,990), which means that the Nova Strada earns the “Y strategy” that was already successful in the Fiat Toro. In the case of the Fiat Strada, the Ranch maintains its off-road footprint and the Ultra seeks to be an urban pick-up.

We have previously ridden the Nova Strada Ultra in Florianópolis, Santa Catarina. While the launch test drive didn’t go through any high-speed areas, we were able to accelerate from 0 to 100km/h and shoot in various speed ranges.
The leading pick-up on the Brazilian market has really become faster and more agile. The turbocharger has a small lag when the driver presses the accelerator pedal quickly, but the increase in speed is easily noticeable. Time taken to go from 0 to 100 decreased from 12 seconds to 9s5.

It is in low-speed driving in traffic and shooting that the Fiat Strada Turbo has improved a lot. He conquered the notorious agility with the 1.0 turbo engine, which was missing (and still missing) in the versions equipped with a naturally aspirated 1.3 engine. The CVT swap is the same and has been tuned more for performance than economy.
And it is also possible to add a little pepper to the Nova Strada Turbo seasoning. Just press the red button on the steering wheel for the vehicle to enter Sport mode and provide quicker responses to accelerator requests. In addition to the Sport mode, the Nova Strada Turbo can be adjusted for a more efficient or more comfortable ride.

Visual changes with turbo
To differentiate the two turbo versions, Fiat made some aesthetic changes to the Double Cab pickup. The central grille and front bumper have new formats. New are the bezels of the auxiliary headlights, which have contributed to a sportier visual appearance. The skidplate has also been changed.

The 16″ alloy wheels are also new. The design is the same, but the finish differentiates the look of the Ultra and Ranch wheels. The Ultra version, which has wheels almost entirely painted black, has a more sporty and urban proposal. Both roll on 205/55 R16 tyres, but on the Ranch they are mixed-use ATRs, for off-road use.
The Nova Strada Ultra also stands out for its black frames (chrome on the Ranch) and for a red horizontal stripe on the grille. Inside they are also slightly different (Ranch has brown leather).

In terms of equipment, the two turbocharged pickups have a leather finish on the door armrests, 7″ multimedia with wirelessly connected Android Auto Auto and Apple CarPlay, inductive mobile phone charger and an attractive turbo and fuel percentage display. power on the on-board computer, which is highlighted on the instrument cluster.
To accommodate the 125/130 bhp (g/e) 1.0 turbo engine, the Fiat Strada received new shock absorbers and front springs and greater torsional stiffness. The brakes have new calipers. And the electric steering has been recalibrated for greater strength and safety.

Edition 25 special series
Based on the Ultra version, the Edizione 25 special series makes its debut in this restyling of the Fiat Strada to celebrate 25 years of success of the pick-up, the leader since the launch of the Extended Cab version. The mechanical part is the same: 135 HP and 200 Nm 1.0 turbo engine with 7-speed CVT gearbox.
There will be only 1,025 units numbered from 0001 to 1025 on a plate glued to the dashboard. It is priced at BRL 135,990 and is available in the exclusive Strato Gray colour (see below, in the gallery).
The Nova Strada Edizione 25 is equipped with a two-tone black roof, mudguard, darkened 16″ alloy wheels, side sticker and, in the compartment, the Fiat Box with key. Inside it features a commemorative badge, red details and exclusive sill plate.

Slogans with no expiration date
The best-selling car in Brazil has changed because Stellantis (owner of Fiat) wants the model to maintain overall market leadership. There has therefore also been a change in the naturally aspirated versions. The Endurance Cabine Plus pick-up replaced the 1.4 engine with a more powerful 1.3.
The intermediate versions Freedom and Volcano had occasional improvements. Freedom 1.3 still has options for Cab Plus and Double Cab. The Volcano 1.3 is Double Cab only, but the gearbox can be manual or automatic. According to Herlander Zola, vice president of Fiat South America, the slogan “the best-selling car in Brazil” has no expiration date.
A fine battle between segments is therefore foreshadowing: on the one hand, the Fiat Strada pick-up; on the other, the Volkswagen Polo, Chevrolet Onix and Hyundai HB20 hatchbacks. After all, in the pick-up segment, no one doubts that Nova Strada will continue to be unbeatable.
