Radiograph of Tottenham
After a disappointing season, which began with high expectations, Tottenham are hoping to return to the top of the table. Without winning a place in European competitions, Spurs are aiming at least for qualification for next season’s Champions League.
The senior year started with Antonio Conte in the technical area, and the Italian had a promising job. However, relationship problems with the squad, as well as Milan’s elimination in the round of 16 of the Champions League, put an end to the job, which remained with the coach on an interim basis until the end of the season. For this year, however, the chosen one was the Australian Ange Postecoglou, who has done an excellent job at Celtic in recent seasons.
The cast base was maintained, with punctual exchanges. In goal, Lloris is still in the squad, but is released to look for a new club. Tottenham has brought the Italian Vicario into his club, who has already been called up by the Azzurri but has not yet made his debut for the national team. Also joining him are midfielder Maddison, who was relegated with Leicester, and defender Van de Ven. The loss felt, but not so felt, is striker Lucas Moura. At the end of his contract, he left London on a free transfer for not renewing his contract.
