Ninja Turtles 2: Planned sequel to the animated film Ninja Turtles?

Warning – The article below contains spoilers for Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, as it specifically discusses the content of its post-credits scene. So please go ahead if you haven’t seen the animated movie yet.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles are back in theaters! And they intend to stay there, even if this is the third reboot of their adventures on the big screen, after 2007 (animated) and 2014, which mixes computer-generated images and real footage.

Co-written and produced by Seth Rogen, who lends his taste to teenage and coming-of-age stories, Ninja Turtles: Teenage Years goes back to the origins of the mythology and allows the characters to be reimagined.

Without further ado in ideas, as suggested by the post-credits scene announcing the arrival in New York of Shredder, the nemesis of the Knights of Libra and their master Splinter. And there are real reasons to be excited about this clash, as a second film is already in the works.

What will Shredder be like in the next movie?

Even better: it will be followed by a two-season animated series that will serve as a tie-in between the films and will be available on Paramount+. Titled Tale of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, it will be overseen by Chris Yost (co-writer of Thor Ragnarok) and Alan Wan, who have worked on previous TV shows centered around the characters.

The new film will be directed by Jeff Rowe, who is behind the camera. And we imagine that Jackie Chan (Splinter), Ayo Edebir (April O’Neill), Seth Rogen (Bebop) or John Cena (Rocksteady) will again provide the voice, and the story, apart from the presence of the Shredder, is still unknown to us. As well as the release date of this second opus.

But if the producers at least make sure not to rush the animators and ensure their well-being in this work, as in this first episode, perhaps patience will be necessary. For good reason. And if you need to pass the time while you wait, you can watch the iconic series from the 80s for free on France.tv.
