Several cities in Brazil were left without electricity this morning of Tuesday 15. On social networks, the national blackout has become one of the most commented topics. Reports state that the power outage started around 8:20 this morning.

According to Internet users, there were no electricity in at least 10 states and the Federal District. In some, the light went out for about 30 minutes, in others less.

In Pará, comments state that the light took even longer to return.

Among the places where there was no light are Acre, Pará, Amapá, Maranhão, Piauí, Ceará, Rio Grande do Norte, Pernambuco, Alagoas, Bahia, Minas, Gerais, São Paulo, Rio de Janeiro and Santa Catarina.

Until this report was released, a cause of the nationwide blackout had not been disclosed. Terra contacted ONS (Operadora Nacional do Sistema Elétrico), but there was no response until this report was published.

According to GloboNews, ONS is still investigating the cause of the blackout. States are still trying to account for their losses. The problem would be linked to the national energy supply system.
