A scene posted on the internet last November that was supposed to be the prologue to “Jurassic World: After the World” will not finally appear in a feature film in theaters from Wednesday.
Spoilers – Warning, the article below reveals potential spoilers. If you do not want to understand the content, please do not read the following …
A 65-million-year-old flashback, an introduction to animal-style documentaries, a ruthless confrontation between the T-Rex and the Giganotosaurus, a mosquito bite … and a scene of panic in the parking lot of these cars. days.
Published at the 2021 Cannes Film Festival, then on the internet last December, this 5-minute series, which was originally supposed to be a prologue to the Jurassic world: The world after, is finally not seen in the film.
Indeed, sometimes to their surprise, fans who had already gone to discover the saga’s last opus (since yesterday in cinemas) were able to see that the feature film did not start in the famous prehistoric sequence, but as a whole. Different.
Thus, in the first seconds of the film we can see a mosaic attacking a fishing boat, followed by a TV report covering the situation around the world where dinosaurs are now evolving freely.
Particularly impressive and created during the Cretaceous period, the prologue we saw on the internet a few months ago, however, had a dual advantage:
- Offer the public a new and original view of an element of the main story that has never been directly discussed in the saga (namely, the day when an amber fossilized mosquito discovered T-Rex DNA)
- And in 1993, I sent a nice slogan to Jurassic Park with the slogan, “It took 65 million years for this adventure to happen.”
At the opening of this scene in November last year, director Colin Trevor also explained the reason for its existence:
“It may be because we have never done it before! (…)“– He answered the microphone Screening. “If you enjoy our movies and you love dinosaurs enough, I can not imagine not wanting to see the Cretaceous. And last but not least, the headline made me think that when I was a kid, I was a dinosaur fan who dreamed of seeing this world. “And I have the opportunity today. I used that opportunity.”

Why isn’t there a TV series in the movie? We know nothing about it at this point, but we can easily assume that the director finally chose to remove it in order to get directly to the essence of his theme and not to continue the story (length) of his feature film. 2h26) with a scene that everyone has already seen.
But in the end, it does not matter if it was an introduction to Jurassic World: The World After. The main thing is that this scene exists! If you do not know this yet, I recommend you watch before you discover the latest saga opus in the cinema.
