Apple Studios will have none other than Lewis Hamilton in the production of his new Formula 1 movie, according to the report. THR. Played by Brad Pitt, the film will follow a veteran pilot who comes out of retirement to mentor a novice pilot.
The news confirms the rumors that emerged in January of this year that indicated the negotiation and still indicated an investment between 130 million dollars and 140 million dollars (approximately R $ 797 thousand).
With little information, it has only been revealed that the production will be headed by Joseph Kosinski and will have Ehren Kruger as screenwriter, both of “Top Gun: Maverick” – in the same positions. The creative team will also include other producers of the classic sequel starring Tom Cruise.
This will not, however, be Hamilton’s first time involved in film projects. The pilot was also a voice actor in the first three films of the “Cars” franchise, as well as having a cameo in “Zoolander 2”.
The production won’t even be Pitt’s motorsport debut. He was involved in the early development of what became the award-winning “Ford v Ferrari” (2019), a film that tells the story of designer Carroll Shelby and driver Ken Miles.
It is worth mentioning that Apple has not yet officially commented on the development of the project. Without an official title, not even a release window has been revealed.
