What is the story of One Piece?
One Piece begins with the last words of the pirate king, Gol D. The plot follows Monkey D. Luffy, who dreams of finding One Piece and becoming the king of the pirates. Who are the actors of the series?
The series will feature young actors with appearances that are very faithful to the original content. Iñaki Godoy will play the protagonist Monkey D. Luffy, while the already known Mackenyu Arata will give life to Roronoa Zoro. Emily Rudd will play navigator Nami, Taz Skylar will play cook Sanji, and Jacob Romero Gibson will play sharpshooter Usopp.
Also already confirmed are Peter Gadiot as Shanks, Jef Ward as the villain Buggy, and Morgan Davies as Koby, one of the first friends Luffy makes on his journey.
Who will voice Luffy in Brazil?
Voice actor Carl Valença voices the protagonist Luffy in the anime dub, however Netflix held a poll with 3 voice actors to choose who would be the protagonist’s Brazilian voice in the live action adaptation, where young voice actor Vyni Takahashi ended up with most votes, being set to voice Luffy.
Vyni Takahashi, despite being young, already has an extensive resume, having voiced several characters in series, movies and anime such as Fullmetal Alchemist, Pokémon, One Punch Man and My Hero Academia.
Will the series have a second season?
So far, a second season of the adaptation has not been confirmed and, by all indications, a continuation of the stories of the Straw Hat gang will depend on the performance of this first season, which, if it has good popularity rates, could win a new season.
The adaptation of One Piece had a very high budget, having cost about 18 million dollars per episode, which exceeds the cost of series such as Game of Thrones and The Mandalorian, so it is to be expected that a second season will be announced if this first one is obtained good results.
