Fantasy Island: M6 will not broadcast the final episodes of Season 1

Bad news for French fans of actress Roselyn Sanchez: M6 has already stopped broadcasting her new TV series Fantasy Island.

Released last Saturday to just 821,000 viewers, this remake of the cult series Fantasy Island takes us to an island paradise where lush vegetation, crystal clear water and a luxury hotel resort coexist, and which has a secret power: it can make dreams come true. vacationers. But when they arrive, they don’t know how much the experience will transform them.

Most notably seen in Devious Maids and FBI: Missing in Action, Roselyn Sanchez portrays Elena Roarke, the niece of the famous Mr. Roarke from the original 70s and 80s series, who has put aside her own ambitions and even love. His life – to preserve the legacy of his family.

After airing the first four episodes last week, M6 will bring you episodes 4 to 8 of Season 1 from 9.10pm tonight, for a total of ten episodes. But fans of American fiction who were hoping to discover a Fantasy Island sequel next Saturday will be disappointed to learn that the French broadcast will end this Saturday, August 19.

M6 will not – for now, under any circumstances – air the final two episodes of the first season of Fantasy Island, which is a special double Christmas episode programmed for the 2021 holiday season in the United States on Fox.

And likewise, patience will be required to discover Season 2, which spans 13 episodes and concluded last May across the Atlantic. The second batch of episodes, which will be the last after Fantasy Island, has been canceled by Fox.

Nicole Kidman will replace Roselyn Sanchez on M6

It is currently unknown when Fantasy Island will return to M6 to continue the adventures of Elena and Ruby (Kiara Barnes). But it should be noted that the series is not deprogrammed. The channel had indeed planned even before the first episodes aired and the verdict of the auditions to stop airing after only eight episodes to make way for a new series.

Nine Perfect Strangers, hosted by Nicole Kidman and adapted from the novel by Liane Moriarty (Big Little Lies), will replace Fantasy Island in the M6’s Saturday evening schedule on August 26 at 9.10pm.

Made for TV by David E. By Kelly (Ally McBeal, Big Little Lies, Big Sky), Nine Perfect Strangers follows nine stressed-out, out-of-towners who arrive at Tranquillum House, a fitness center that promises a “total transformation” of mind and body. Being overweight, drug addiction, losing a loved one: everyone has a different reason and purpose for being here.

Cut off from the outside world, they all fall under the spell of the mysterious Masha (Nicole Kidman), the center’s director, who will stop at nothing to care for them during this 10-day retreat. Between meditation and other relaxation techniques, tongues are soon loosened and everyone’s secret is revealed. However, as the sessions progress, Masha’s unorthodox methods threaten the group.

With a five-star cast, Nine Perfect Strangers also stars Melissa McCarthy (Spy, Gilmore Girls), Michael Shannon (Knives Out, The Flash, Midnight Special), Luke Evans (Dracula Untold, The Alienist), Samara Weaving (Nightmare Wedding), Scream VI), Regina Hall (Horror Movie, Black Monday) and Bobby Cannavale (Nurse Jack, The Watcher).

And for the most impatient, Nine Perfect Strangers is now available to stream on the Prime Video platform.
