Tonight on TV: Clovis Cornillac investigates the pharmaceutical industry

After working with him on Brice de Nice and Les Chevaliers du Ciel, producers Eric and Nicolas Altmeier ask Clovis Korniak about his aspirations as an actor. The latter tells them about his desire to play roles similar to those of Lino Ventura in the 1970s. He suggests they discuss it with his screenwriter friend Eric Besnard (co-writer of Le Convoyeur and Travaux).

Since then, he has in mind a political thriller and focuses on various facts about the abuse of the pharmaceutical industry. This is how he imagines a new protocol: the story of Raul Craft, a lumberjack who lost his 18-year-old son in a car accident. After learning that the latter was a clinical trial volunteer, he decides to investigate…

Then Tomas Vincent will be chosen as the director. In this way, he discovered Clovis Kornilak, whose director was already in 1999 in Carnival – a film that noticeably gave the actor, who was then best known for his work on the boards, became famous in the world of cinema.

Influenced by Clint Eastwood’s Westerns, the latter makes for a committed and effective thriller with well-crafted suspense that surpasses Clovis Cornillac’s settled performance. Next to him, Marie-José Croze is just as convincing, who has already given an answer in lies, betrayals and other relationships…
