Remember 10 nostalgic films that were shown on SBT’s “Cinema em Casa”.

“Cinema em Casa” punctuated the daily afternoons of Brazilians at a time when the Internet was not very present and watching movies on open TVs was a common habit and the main source of entertainment.

Broadcast by SBT, the program debuted in 1988 and, from August 1991, began to be broadcast daily. The attraction included films ranging from light-hearted productions for children and youth, inspirational dramas, and even works considered inappropriate for the timeslot, such as horror and action films with scenes of violence.

A bit different from Rede Globo’s competitor “Sessão da Tarde”, which tends to feature family comedies, “Cinema em Casa” has developed its own identity, mainly due to its lean towards B-movies which often formed its programming.

After a few hiatus over the years, the program returned in March 2023, starting broadcasts on Saturdays.
