Man invades tourist resort in Switzerland, is thrown into the air by a jet of water and ends up hospitalized

The victim invaded the Jet d’Eau fountain, which reaches a height of 140 meters and pumps 500 liters of water per second at 200 km/h

A man was thrown through the air and later landed on concrete after approaching one of the most famous landmarks in Geneva, Switzerland: the Jet d’Eau fountain. The victim was taken to the hospital and his condition remains unknown. The information comes from BBC news.

The young man, who appeared to be in his 20s, would have passed the security barriers surrounding the fountain on the night of Monday 21st.

Initially, he tried to place his face where the water was being sprayed, but was forcibly pushed back. In a second attempt, he attempted to “hug” the jet of water and was thrown upwards, landing on a nearby catwalk.

The Jet d’Eau fountain has the capacity to reach 140 meters in height, pushing 500 liters of water per second at a speed of 200 km/h.

After the incident, police teams were alerted by pedestrians and rescued the young man.

“The police came and asked to urgently turn off the Jet d’Eau so they could go and get it,” said a witness BBC.

The company in charge of the management and operation of the tourist site, the SIG, said it intends to file a complaint against the man for trespassing.
