After nearly fifty years of existence, the Star Wars saga continues to amaze us! Proof with the new derivative series Ahsoka, the first two episodes of which aired on Wednesday, August 23, on the Disney + platform.
In a double episode offered to subscribers of the streaming service, Rosario Dawson was offered the lead role in this spin-off about the adventures of the ancient Jedi, which is also designed as a direct sequel to Rebels.
A few years after the end of the fourth season of the animated series, the heroes of the program find their paths crossing again in order to find traces of their former companion Ezra Bridger.
The latter was missing after the sacrifice of Grand Admiral Imperial Thrawn, who was also announced to return in the Ahsoka series. In the first episode, Ahsoka hands Tano a sphere containing a map of where to find Thrawn.
Unfortunately, two former Jedi who have crossed over to the dark side – Baylan Skol and his apprentice Shin Hutt – are after him and capture the artifact for their mistress, Morgan Elsbeth, the sorceress of Dathomir.
In episode 2, the latter manages to decipher the coded card, revealing the existence of his two allies. “from a galaxy far, far away”. Then the holographic plane shown by the sphere reveals the presence of several galaxies. Never before has a Star Wars adventure (in the movies as well as the TV series) ventured into such an unknown world.
What if this cult plan revealed the whereabouts of Ezra Bridger?
Then a line of dialogue through the Bailan school tells us that this galaxy, mentioned in children’s stories in the days of the Jedi Temple, is called Peridea. However, we don’t know if this is the same galaxy seen at the end of The Empire Strikes Back or the database that Obi-Wan Kenobi is looking at in Attack of the Clones.
The official launch of this new galaxy could also herald future ties to the James Mangold-developed Star Wars film set several millennia before the prequels (Episodes I – II – III) and the Acolyte series (to come). in 2024).
Episodes of the Star Wars Ahsoka series can be seen every Wednesday exclusively on Disney+!
