Super stuffed! Here’s an intriguing and curious title that echoes Greg Mottola’s cult comedy, SuperGrave, released in 2007. In these two films, we follow a duo of teenagers who are graduating from high school and want to have a crazy night of drinking.
If SuperGrave featured Evan and Seth, Super-bourrés presents Janus and Sam. The first is a young high school student who dreams of leaving his home village of isolation and alcoholism.
Her everyday life changes when she discovers an artisanal clothing factory hidden in her grandfather’s basement. His best friend, Sam, accompanies him along with Paulette, a dangerous and troublesome donkey! Fun and quirky, this comedy also recalls the earthiness of Les Beaux Gosses, the feature film that brought Vincent Lacoste to life in 2009.
As for Super-bourrés, it reveals two promising young actors who perfectly portray these two sly, sensitive and slightly clumsy teenagers. Camped in Janus is Pierre Gomme, for whom this is his first major film role. The 18-year-old actress has already appeared in Le Petit Spirou, Le Daim by Quentin Dupieux, My Cousin Vincent Lindon or Erase History by Kervern and Delépine.
His partner in crime, Sam, is played by Nina Poletto, making her screen debut. “There are a lot of things in him that I find in myself: country life, farming parents, a long-time friend and a breakup with someone that I’ve experienced in my personal life. I share Sam’s sentimental character. And his sincerity.”– confides the young actor.
For his part, Pierre Gomez liked the very natural tone of the story and the fact that there was never any forced humor. “I was sensitive to a Southern atmosphere that I didn’t know at all, and I was surprised at how well the script translated to the screen. I appreciated finding atypical and colorful characters in the script.” The young man points.
“Janus is quite a unique character who struggles with social interaction but is sincere and doesn’t go against his ideas and values. He’s a special but fascinating character.”Pierre Gomm explains.
If the actress was noticed by casting director Marie Cante, the process became more complicated to find her accomplice, Sam. Nina Polletto was found thanks to wild casting, as specified by director Bastien Millau, who staged his first feature film. Film with Super-bourrés.
“We wanted a young woman who embodies something authentic and we used wild casting. I knew we had a chance to find her in the women’s rugby teams around Agen and Nina Poleto’s video caught our eye. We went to Agen. We met several profiles but our first intuition It was right and we stayed with Nina.”emphasizes the director.

The girl’s father, Pascal, a rough peasant, is played by Vincent Moscato. As for Janus’s mother, she will be played by Barbara Schultz. Look out for the appearance of the priceless Chikandiere, the friendly comic we last saw in Asterix in the cinema.
However, the most unlikely appearance in the film is Jean LaSalle, a politician and former presidential candidate. The latter dons the costume of the hero’s grandfather, who introduces him to the art of making ancestral odevi. Note that Lassalle was the focus of the documentary Un berger et deux perchés à l’Elysée, which was released in theaters in January 2019.

Note that Super-bourrés was filmed in the town of La Romieu, on the border between New Aquitaine and Occitanie, directed by Bastien Milleau himself. “But we had to shoot near a plum farm. So we shot in the Gers and it was great because the scenery is very familiar to me and very cinematic, especially in the summer when nature burns and evokes western landscapes.”says the director, a former student of La Fémis’ script department.
The latter wanted to tell this story because he spent his entire high school education in the open countryside, completely lost in the fields. This is the world of his adolescence. According to the director, making the first film that talks about what he knows was reassuring. Also, talking to friends in the city, he was struck by how different their experiences were.
“For those who grew up in the countryside, it was an adventure to hold parties: you had to drive, get certain strategies and start all the little logistics. This is something familiar to me and which inspired me to write the characters, I knew and still know that I also wanted to embody the terroir. In this regard, the question of accents It was created in the first place so that I could keep the story in the territory that I know well.”Bastien Milo explains.
Super Drunk hits theaters on August 30.
