The verdict is finally out! After years of waiting, the series live action One Piece, adapted from Eiichiro Oda’s eponymous manga, is finally hitting our screens. But before that, the first episodes of the show were previewed this Tuesday, August 29 at the Grand Rex in Paris.

The legendary movie theater was packed for tonight’s event, which gave us a chance to find out if the live-action adaptation of the world’s best-selling manga (over 500 million copies in circulation) is a success.

Has the One Piece series finally managed to end the curse of live-action anime transpositions?

The answer is yes! The screening of these first two episodes received an overwhelmingly positive response, as evidenced by the many reviews posted on social networks by fans, influencers and journalists who attended this prestigious preview!

Adapted from Eiichiro Oda’s manga (105 volumes available from Glénat), One Piece follows a young pirate monkey d. The adventures of Luffy and his Straw Hat crew. Gifted with elastic powers, the latter intends to become the new king of pirates known as Gol d. By taking Roger’s hidden treasure.

The One Piece series will be available exclusively on Netflix starting Thursday, August 31.
