Erin Carter on Netflix: What we need to know from the end of season 1?

Days after its release, Erin Carter continues to monopolize the top spot on Netflix. Surprise when you know that the British series did not bring any promotion in France. But this is proof that thrillers, when done well, attract subscribers to the platform.

In the 7 episodes that make up Season 1, the heroine played by Evin Ahmed sees her past catch up with her after a supermarket robbery. It’s a descent into hell for a young woman who has to fight for her family.

The callers discover that the teacher is actually a former undercover agent for the gang whose mission was to find out who was sponsoring him. After their heist goes wrong, Erin flees, taking some gold bars and her friend’s daughter Lena (whom she thought was dead) with her, before settling in complete anonymity in Spain, where she rebuilds her life. Although Lena (Denise Gough) follows her, and the big bad guy in the story turns out to be the father of one of her students, Erin manages to reconcile with the former and eliminate the latter.

In the final scene, we find Erin, Harper and Jordy (Sean Teil) enjoying a well-deserved family vacation. But here a very familiar face appears… Inspector Jim Armstrong, who enrolled him in the police academy: “You know what they say about vacations. They have an end. And we get back to work.” he said then. If he answers when he already has a job, his former boss insists that he has no choice but to return to work in Special Operations to avoid being arrested for treason.

An ending that clearly calls for a season 2 of Who is Erin Carter. If it hasn’t yet been renewed by Netflix, the series is off to a good start in the world. Especially since there are still gray areas to find out about our hero’s past…
