Twin brothers Henrique Barros Mazzoni Pena (17) and Bernardo Barros Mazzoni Pena (17) started playing tennis at the age of 5 thanks to their parents’ influence.

The first participation in official sports competitions began at the age of 10. In these experiences the young people have already started to compete in other Brazilian regions. Bernardo says the experiences have been varied, including a pre-season in the United States.

Henrique and Bernardo are currently in their second year of high school in the Fibonacci teaching system. Young people are preparing for tests such as the National High School Examination (Enem).

Henrique still doesn’t know what he wants to do after his studies. Bernardo, on the other hand, intends to practice tennis during university, winning a university scholarship based on this sport in the United States.

As for the degree, he says he is interested in the financial market, the investment sector. “I’m interested in taking a class in the area Businessif you go out”.

It has now become to include sport in Henrique’s routine a habit that generates pleasure and helps maintain physical and mental well-being.

According to Henrique it is necessary to reconcile studies with the game of tennis a lot of discipline and concentrationas the workout takes a significant amount of time into the routine.

Since they have been playing this sport for a long time, Bernardo believes they have become accustomed to combining tennis with activities such as studying.

Bernardo comments that since it is an individual mode and the competitions are made up of elimination phases, it is necessary to work on resilience in this process.

“So maybe sometimes you travel to the other side of Brazil and end up losing in the first round. So, it’s a sport where you have to have a lot of resilience and, most of the time, you have to develop a very strong mentality.”
