Pirates of the Caribbean: The script for the new film is ready, but it depends on the Hollywood strike

The script for the new film in the Pirates of the Caribbean series is ready. The information was revealed by screenwriter Craig Mazin in an interview with Los Angeles Times. However, divulging a date for the feature film’s premiere now depends on the end of the actors’ and writers’ strike in Hollywood, which doesn’t appear to be anytime soon.

Mazin is working on and off on the sequel to Dune and a new installment of Pirates of the Caribbean, in which he stars alongside Ted Elliot, who co-wrote three films in the franchise. The information comes from Omelette.

We pitched the idea and thought they wouldn’t accept it at all, it’s very strange. But they bought. He [Elliot] he wrote a great script and the strike happened and everyone was waiting.

Plans for the future of the franchise have suffered some setbacks in recent months. A version of the new film with Margot Robbie was canceled last year, according to the information of the actress herself.

There are still questions about Johnny Depp’s participation in the sequel.Information released last year indicates that the actor and interpreter of the iconic Jack Sparrow will not be returning to the big screen anytime soon.

Launched in 2003 with “The Curse of the Black Pearl”, the Pirates of the Caribbean franchise has raised more than $4.5 billion, with the release of 5 films: Dead Man’s Chest (2006), No End of the World ( 2007), Sailing in Mysterious Waters (2011) and Salazar’s Revenge (2017).
