If you were waiting for a launch to enjoy the festivities of September 7, know that the live-action of The little Mermaid just landed on Disney+. Also identically named to the cartoon, this film features real-life characters, with Halle Bailey as the mermaid Ariel and Jonah Hauer-King as Prince Eric.
The Little Mermaid grossed double what it cost
The part of real people is for some characters, while others continue to be made through animation, in this case digital by computer. The fish Sebastião has the voice of Daveed Diggs, Awkwafina is the one who speaks for the seagull Sabidão and Jacob Tremblay answers for Linguado.
The film is directed by Rob Marshall who recently worked on the film Mary Poppins Returns and directed another quite famous musical that is Chicago. All over the world, The little Mermaid grossed an estimated $570 million, and this sum easily covered the estimated $250 million cost of production.
With the arrival of The little Mermaid for Disney +, including the catalog in Brazil, we just have to wait Elements from Pixar streaming next week and Indiana Jones and the Relic of Destiny. The latter does not yet have a date, but we bet between the end of September and mid-October.
