“No one in space will hear you scream”, chanted in the Ridley Scott film Alien in 1979. 45 years later, the saga returns to its roots with a new feature film by Fede Alvarez (The Evil Dead, Don’t Breathe). Its title: Alien Romulus!
After the commercial failure of Alien Covenant in 2017, Ridley Scott left the gooey Xenomorphs to helm the Gucci and Napoleon biopic. At the moment, the director is busy preparing for the shooting of Gladiator 2, which is set to begin shooting after the strike that is currently paralyzing Hollywood.
For many fans, the fact that Ridley Scott is passing the baton to horror great Fede Alvarez is a very good thing. The filmmaker knew how to pull off the Evil Dead saga in cinema, we can trust him to relaunch the Alien saga. Will he be able to rebuild his reputation after two disappointing episodes (Prometheus and Covenant)?
Who will star in Alien Romulus?
Sigourney Weaver, the character Ripley of the first 4 parts of the franchise, will not return for this 9th chapter. Fede Alvarez gathered young hopefuls for this unique story around one of the most terrifying creatures in the history of cinema.
Hence, we find Kaylee Spahn (Easttown Mare), Isabella Merced (Dora and the Lost City), Archie Reno (Morbius, Shadow and Bone), Spike Fearne (Batman, Aftersun), David Johnson (Industry) and Eileen Wu. We remind you that the feature film has already been shot in Hungary and is currently in the post-production phase.

Alien Romulus, when is it coming out?
Last June, after announcing the postponement of the Avatar sequel and several Marvel movies, Disney (owner of 20th Century Studios) announced the release date for Alien Romulus. The feature film will be released in theaters on August 14, 2024!
Alien Romulus, what will it say?
In terms of plot, this new opus would have nothing to do with the previous films. Fede Alvarez, a fan of the iconic franchise himself, pitched the idea to Ridley Scott a few years ago during a casual conversation. This eventually led to the latter calling the director to see if he was still interested. Then everything accelerated.
Therefore, 20th Century Studios decided to produce the film on the strength of Alvarez’s words, as the script told “A really good story with lots of characters you’ve never seen before”According to Steve Asbell, president of 20th Century Studios.

“In this 9th installment of the hugely popular film series, a group of young people from a distant world come face-to-face with the world’s most terrifying life form.”We read in the synopsis of the upcoming fiction.
A glowing xenomorph is about to pillage our little army! So Romulus must return to the origins of the saga, in the manner of a predator, reconnecting with the tone of his illustrious boss, the predator.
Ridley Scott, the iconic director of the original Alien, is producing the film alongside Michael Prue under their Scott Free banner, with Brent O’Connor, Elizabeth Cantillon and Tom Moran serving as executive producers.
If the fangs and fangs of this mythical pop culture monster traumatized you, you might shudder because no one in the movie theater will hear you scream! Alien Romulus will hit theaters on August 14, 2024.
