Netflix has released the poster and teaser for “The Ballerina,” a new South Korean action thriller, which will arrive on the streaming service on October 6. The preview combines the lightness of ballet with the violence of revenge films, and highlights actress Jeon Jong Seo (Tokyo of “La Casa de Papel: Korea”) in bloody scenes.
The protagonist is a former professional bodyguard specializing in martial arts, sword fighting and firearms. She has a dancer friend for whom she risks her life in the name of revenge.
The film is written and directed by Lee Chung Hyun, who previously made the thriller “The Call”, which is also available on Netflix. And the cast also includes Park Yoo-Rim (“Drive My Car”) and newcomer Kim Ji-Hoon.
The premiere is scheduled for October 6th.
