The Italian Ambassador to Argentina carries out a mission in Vaca Muerta

At the heart of Lucentini’s agenda was cooperation in the oil and gas sector

From 6 to 8 September, the Italian ambassador to Argentina, Fabrizio Lucentini, was on a mission to Neuquén, in the Patagonia region, with a delegation of Italian entrepreneurs and representatives of the Italian Chamber of Commerce in the Argentine Republic.

The objective of the mission was to encourage greater cooperation with Italy in the oil and gas sector and related activities.

During the mission, Ambassador Lucentini had institutional meetings with local authorities, visited the main local production centers and some hydrocarbon deposits in the Vaca Muerta geological formation.

Business integration activities, possible collaborations in the technical training sector and possible activities of Italian companies in the ranks of the main energy companies operating in Neuquén: these are the main themes of the meetings with the governor of the province, Omar Gutierrez, the provincial ministers of Production and Energy and Natural Resources, as well as the president of the local Investment Promotion Agency.

“The development of the Argentine energy sector is a fundamental driver for the economy of this country. The progressive development of Vaca Muerta allows for more energy at a lower cost for Argentine businesses and families, and to improve the economic balance of the country exporting gas abroad, including to Europe”, stated Ambassador Lucentini, also underlining the importance of encouraging a greater presence of Italian industry in the Vaca Muerta basin, considering the global technological leadership of Italian companies in the sector .
