Disney has announced the release of a special collection of 100 films on Blu-ray called “Disney Legacy Animated Film Collection”. This set is scheduled to debut on November 14th and enthusiastic fans will be able to pre-order starting September 18th on Walmart.com.
However, the biggest admirers of Disney magic will have to pay a considerable amount to get the collection: 1,500 dollars, or approximately R$7,500! With this amount you can purchase a standard iPhone 14 at retail or, by adding another R$ 100, you can purchase it directly on the Apple website (price R$ 7,599).
What’s in the Disney Legacy Animated Film Collection
Collecting masterpieces from both Disney and Pixar, the collection is divided into three disc-filled volumes, spanning Disney’s entire cinematic history. They range from the 1937 classic “Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs” to this year’s new “Elemental.”
Analyzing the list of released titles, we see films such as the entire “Toy Story” saga, “The Incredibles”, “Frankenweenie” and “Robin Hood”. In particular, the collection seems to leave no room for many of the less acclaimed titles that have been released direct-to-video over the years.
The design and finish of the collection are eye-catching and you know this is a true collector’s item. Each volume takes place in a format reminiscent of a storybook, showing the graphics of the film posters, their years of release and a quote from a character from each work. Additionally, the collection offers digital codes for each film, allowing fans to access them on digital platforms.
As if that wasn’t enough, the set also includes a lithograph poster of Disney’s upcoming release, “Wish,” a numbered certificate of authenticity, and a fun crystal Mickey hat. According to information on the presented certificate, the set includes “18 Blu-ray discs with bonus content from Pixar.”
