If we all attend drunken nights at the cinema that are a little out of control, the party on offer in A Very Bad Trip pushes the cursors to the max while still being a comedy for all in the audience! And if you don’t know what we’re talking about, that’s because you haven’t seen the movie, but there’s good news: it’s currently available on Netflix.
The Hangover follows Doug (Justin Barta) at his bachelor party in Las Vegas, accompanied by his friends Phil (Bradley Cooper), Stu (Ed Helms) and Alan (Zach Galifianakis). But the night is so crazy that when they wake up, the boys remember nothing… and Doug is missing!
From there, the heroes will go in search of their friend, who will slowly remind them of the evening that went in every direction! Viewers will enjoy not only the improbable situations, but also the discoveries of each person as they become engrossed in the question of where poor Doug has gone.
The sequence of revelations and the fact that the evening has really gone too far makes it all funny, which is due to the performance of the three main actors, who achieved international fame thanks to this film. The end credits, showing all the photos taken during the evening, are the highlight of this brilliant comedy!

Released in 2009, Very Bad Trip is the biggest success to date from the writing duo of John Lucas and Scott Moore, who we also owe Bad Moms, Flypaper, Haunted by His Ex and Basket Academy. As for director Todd Phillips, he has already made a documentary and three feature films (Road Trip, Back to School and Starsky & Hutch), but this is the film that puts him in the spotlight.
A Very Bad Trip was a phenomenal success with 2 million admissions in France and $277 million in the United States on a budget of $35 million, establishing Todd Phillips as a filmmaker who can turn a simple idea into a hit with audiences. In 2020, he received a total of four Oscar nominations for Joker and is currently developing Joker: Folie à deux.

The Hangover sequels followed suit with Hangover 2 reaching 2.5 million in France and Episode 3 reaching 1.9 million! A huge success for Warner, especially at a time when American comedies were rarely seen in France.
In 2014, a year after the release of Hangover 3, Blackout Total takes on the same concept, this time featuring Elizabeth Banks waking up in a room with no phone or money and complete amnesia for the night before.
