The Nicki Minaj-led event will also feature performances by Demi Lovato, Karol G, Lil Wayne, Fall Out Boy and Doja Cat, as well as a tribute to Shakira. The Colombian singer will receive the “Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award” for her great impact on the North American music industry.
But it doesn’t end here. The awards ceremony will award the famous Moon Man trophy, also known as Silver Astronaut, to strong contenders, such as Taylor Swift, BLACKPINK, Miley Cyrus, Olivia Rodrigo, Sam Smith and Anitta herself, who is once again in the running for the Best Latin Artist Category, which he won last year. The Brazilian singer will also give an unprecedented performance with a medley of “Funk Rave”, “Casi Casi” and “Used to Be”.
In addition to the main event, MTV will also air a pre-show, broadcast live from 7.30pm, featuring performances by NLE Choppa and Sabrina Carpenter. The warm-up will last 90 minutes under the command of Saweetie, Nessa, Dometi and Kevan Kenney.
