Who would have thought that War Machine and Lando Calrissian would have much in common? and still. Two characters from the Marvel and Star Wars universes, respectively, were supposed to be the heroes of their own TV series that would be turned into a movie.
The series was announced at Disney’s Investor Day in 2020 Lando was planned for Disney+ and was supposed to allow Donald Glover to return to the role he played in Solo as a young Lando Calrissian.
And that meant he was spared the criticism leveled at the feature film, to which he was able to keep his cool attitude.
There was no further news on the project until July 2023. When showrunner Justin Simien (Dear Whites, Haunted Mansion) was replaced by Donald Glover and his brother Steven. And this is the last one in the podcast Pablo Torre finds outannounced this change in format.

“This is not a TV series”He said as the interview focused on Lando. “At the moment the idea is to make a film. But for now, after the strike, it’s more of an Arab phone.”
That said, given the current moves, talks with Lucasfilm and Disney won’t specifically move forward. And that there is no word on a release date or the possible involvement of Billy Dee Williams in another Lando saga.
But that’s why Lando has to join Rey’s project, a James Mangold film that’s supposed to be the conclusion to a branch of the universe connected to The Mandalorian and Ahsoka between the next Star Wars feature films.
We wish him more success than Solo, which was marked by a change of director before becoming a semi-flop in theaters in 2018.
