Every Harry Potter fan knows how the legendary saga ends: the Battle of Hogwarts. But as MoviePilot reports, dear Draco Malfoy translator Tom Felton revealed in his autobiography. Beyond Magic: Confessions of a WitchPosted on October 13: The grand finale against Voldemort could have been very different.
Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows – Part 2 The big showdown between Harry and Voldemort finally takes place at Hogwarts with many witnesses who belong to one side. You know, good finally triumphs over evil and the Boy Who Lived destroys the Dark Lord. But an alternate ending was also filmed in which Harry’s nemesis Draco helps him to victory.
Easy baguette toss
in his book, Tom Felton Describes his coming of age in the film world and especially on the film set Harry Potter. It is in Chapter 23 that he makes this revelation: there is a version of the final battle in which Draco suddenly switches sides and saves the wizarding world by taking Harry’s (Daniel Radcliffe) side.
“We filmed the final scene of the Battle of Hogwarts. I haven’t been on one set for so long. It was such an important scene that they wanted to film it in every possible way to give the eight films the climax they deserved. There were many moments that did not make it into the finished film – including the moment when Draco throws his wand at Harry in the final duel with Voldemort. Guess that! There’s a movie reel somewhere that shows Draco saving everyone, but no one can see it.“
In the version we know, Draco, called by his parents, does support Voldemort (reluctantly, judging by his hesitation) and even receives an uncomfortable hug from the latter – an improvised gesture by Ralph Fiennes himself. The Malfoy family then stops fighting.

Although Harry’s long-time nemesis became a more complex character in later films and failed to kill Dumbledore, for example, he was far from a hero. Perhaps that’s why the scene was cut so far away from Drago’s character, although many fans would have loved to see it in the film.
We won’t know for a while if the next Harry Potter series will offer an ending close to this version of the character. In the meantime, the complete saga can be rediscovered on VOD.
