The Brazilians won a battle that lasted more than three hours on Saturday

In a very difficult match, Rafael Matos, of ADK Tennis, from Itajaí (SC), and Felipe Meligeni qualified Brazil for the Davis Cup qualifiers, the largest team competition in the world.
Matos and Meligeni defeated the couple Christian Sigsgaard and Johannes Ingildsen by 2 sets to 1 with scores of 6/7 (7/5) 7/5 7/6 (7/5) after 3h03min on the hard court and on the indoor court away from home in Hillerod, Denmark.
Brazil ends the match 3-0 with victories by Thiago Monteiro against the fourth in the world, Holger Rune, and Thiago Wild against August Holmgren.
The national team awaits the qualifying draw which will take place in November. Next year’s clash is worth a place in the September 2024 Finals.
The game
The match was very difficult and served on serve in the first set with the locals enthusiastic about the fans’ victory. The Brazilian pair raised their level in the second phase, managed to reach the break, but Meligeni started to make mistakes and doubt. The locals equalize at 5-5, but with a double fault they give the set to the Brazilians.
Matos and Meligeni were at their best in the third game, opening 3-0, but they took a break in the fifth game and the match was tied. The Brazilian pair did very well in the tenth game, opening three match points with a 0/40, but the locals were saved. The drama continued until the tie-break where the Brazilians were brave, made fewer mistakes and finished with a well-aimed shot from Matos.
