Calleri celebrates the victory against Flamengo, but underlines: ‘We haven’t achieved anything yet’

The Sao Paulo team won with a goal from the Argentine and gained an advantage in the first match of the competition

São Paulo went to Rio de Janeiro to face Flamengo in the first leg of the Brazilian Cup grand final, at the Maracanã and won by one nil with a goal from Calleri in the 45th minute of the first phase.

Scorer of the only goal of the match, the San Paolo striker analyzed the match and also the result obtained away from home, which gives an advantage for the return match at Morumbi.

– It was a good match and a good first half. In the second one we left it for a while, due to tiredness. Flamengo played a little better, but it was a very good 90 minutes, a great result against a qualified team. There are still 90 minutes left at our home and with our fans, but we always have to do something more to win the cup. We haven’t achieved anything yet, we have to play the same match today or better yet try to beat Flamengo – analyzed San Paolo striker Calleri.

– I’m happy, I really wanted to win. I can say that whoever scores a goal is equal to those among the 11 players, due to their desire to win. I’m happy, I’m not going through a bad moment, I’m very happy here in Sao Paulo. Obviously sometimes we have good moments and sometimes we don’t, but today I think we played 100%. It’s thanking the fans when they leave the CT. We have to play a great match to try to win like today. But with our feet on the ground, now is the time to focus on Fortaleza and Flamengo on Sunday, because we all want to win the cup – concluded Calleri.

The return is scheduled for next Sunday (24th), at 4pm (Brasilia time), at Morumbi to define the great champion of the Copa do Brasil. Before that, San Paolo will face Fortaleza, again in Morumbi, on Thursday (21st), at 9.30pm (Brasilia time), in a match valid for the 24th day of the Brazilian Championship.
