A new Captain Marvel comic adds another cosmic-level entity to Marvel Comics, one that promises to have power comparable to that of Galactus
What was a discreet revision of the hierarchy of power and cosmic entities gradually became a reformulation of the foundations of the Marvel Universe. And now the update of all the most menacing creatures of Casas das Ideias is open, with the arrival of numerous new characters in several titles. And that includes the Captain Marvel comic, which reveals a being comparable to Galactus.

For those who still don’t know who Galactus is, he is the famous Eater of Worlds who serves as a reference for the antagonists with a titanic scale of power, capable of single-handedly threatening planets and even entire galaxies – something capable of mobilizing the Avengers, the Fantastic Four, the X-Men, and usually all the other heroes together.

From Secret Wars 2015, writers repositioned the power scale of heroes like Thor and Hulk and better populated the Multiverse, with new beings and threats. And the Marvel Universe itself has expanded in size and number of cosmic entities.
How the reveal in the Captain Marvel comic fits into the overhaul of the Marvel Universe
Although Galactus remains the most popular cosmic entity among readers, Marvel has altered already known beings, like the Arcanumand introduced titanic figures, such as the beings of the Utgard Dimension, recently featured in Immortal Thor. The next big event at Casa das Ideeas, OF GODby Jonathan Hickman, will also add other names.
In a recent interview with Looper, writer Alyssa Wong teased some details about the next Captain Marvel series, in what she calls a “more cosmic-scale Marvel title.” Carol Danvers’ comic will feature a creature called The Undone (“The Undone”, in loose translation, although the gender of the entity is not yet known).
“We are becoming interdimensional, encountering powers that far surpass humanity,” Wong said. “For me, the great cornerstone of cosmic horror is realizing that there are things out there that we can’t understand and that are much more powerful than us,” she explained.

While he didn’t go into detail about the nature of the “Unmade,” it’s clear that it will pose an imminent threat to Earth. Wong also briefly introduced the villain Omen (“Omen”, in the loose translation), endowed with “strange and corrupting powers” linked somehow to “Undone” and his plans for conquest.
The new Captain Marvel series will debut in the next few weeks on the foreign market.
