In 2011, producer Marc du Pontavis acquired the rights to the novel “Happy handBy Guillaume Laurent, seduced by a mix of its genres. He proposed the project to Jeremy Clapen, a graduate of the Paris School of Decorative Arts, and was known for his short films (especially SkhizeniNominated for Caesar). Thus the latter made his first feature film, which was called I lost my body.
Presented at International Critics’ Week 2019 at the Cannes Film Festival, where he was nominated for a Golden Camera, the film follows two trajectories: a spectacular and fantastic hand that crosses Paris in search of his body, and a more intimate and poetic, loving young man.
Deeply moving, I lost my body He won César for Best Animated Feature, before representing France in the same category at the 92nd Academy Awards. On AlloCiné it has an average viewer rating of 4.2 out of 5.
