Saw X: Police are called after neighbors are scared by film editing

Editing of the new film in the Saw franchise caused an unexpected episode with the US police

Newest entry in the iconic horror film franchise, Deadly GamesX caused a disturbance in the North Hollywood neighborhood of Los Angeles, after neighbors of the assistant editor Steve Forn confusing the film’s editing with a possible torture victim. The information was revealed by Kevin Greutertdirector of the film, during an interview with NME.

The scene responsible for the confusion is the ‘ocular vacuum trap’. It occurs when one of the film’s characters needs to escape the game or lose their sight. As you can imagine, the sequence is marked by countless screams.

“There was a knock on the door,” he revealed. Greutert. “We have the doorbell video [câmera] of the police approaching, [Forn atendendo a porta] and the police saying: ‘The neighbors [estão] calling and saying that someone is being tortured to death here.’ And he said, ‘Actually, I’m just working on a movie… Can you come in and see it if you want?'”

The director revealed that the episode provided a good laugh for the police officers. Greutert he also said he can imagine Steve’s reaction when he opened the door.

“The police started laughing!” explained the director. “They said, ‘We want to, but, you know, you’re fine.’ It must have been a pretty realistic performance! It’s a really funny story… Plus, Steve is a very polite guy. I can only imagine the look on his face when he realized what was happening!”
